SK Global Chemical sells Nexlene PE business to JV with Sabic

SK Global Chemical (SKGC; Seoul) is to sell Nexlene, its premium polyethylene PE business to its joint venture with Sabic. Sabic SK Nexlene Co. (Singapore), an equally owned jv between the two companies, will be the owner of the technology as well as the 230,000 m.t./year Nexlene PE plant at Ulsan, South Korea. The partners also plan to use the technology in a new Nexlene plant in Saudi Arabia and in other parts of the world. The business is expected to begin commercial operations in the second half of this year.
