M&G Chemicals' UuS PTA-PET project ahead of schedule

M&G Chemicals (Luxembourg) is pushing ahead with its purified terephthalic acid-polyethylene terephthalate (PTA-PET) project at Corpus Christi, TX, and the company plans to start commercial operations in 2016, industry sources say. This would be roughly one year earlier than the timing projected by the industry. M&G is taking advantage of modular construction techniques that enable large sections of the plant to be constructed overseas and delivered by ship to the site for final assembly, sources add.
