Oman names preferred bidders for Orpic complex

Oman Oil Refineries and Petroleum Industries Co. (Orpic; Muscat) has selected the preferred bidders for its previously announced Liwa plastics complex. The selected companies are a subsidiary of Maire Tecnimont and a joint venture including GS Engineering & Construction (Seoul), Mitsui & Co., and Punj Loyd (Gurgaon, India). The companies will be responsible for three of four Liwa project packages, including a natural gas extraction unit at Fahud, Oman; a 300-kilometer natural gas liquids pipeline between Fahud and Sohar, Oman; and three polymer units at Sohar.
