Valspar’s Profits and Sales Rise in Fourth Quarter

Valspar reported net income of $51.3 million, up 3% compared with the same period last year, for its fiscal fourth quarter ended October 29. Sales rose 13%, to $876.8 million. “Revenue growth from our new business initiatives and our Wattyl acquisition, together with pricing and productivity to offset ongoing pressure on raw material costs, positions us to deliver another strong year,” says William Mansfield, Valspar chairmanand CEO. Valspar expects full-year fiscal 2011 adjusted net income to be $2.45-$2.65/share, compared with $2.23/share in fiscal 2010.
