Asahi holdings completes purchase of Johnson Matthey’s gold and silver refning business

Precious metals recycling company Asahi Holdings (Tokyo) says that on 5 March, it completed the previously announced acquisition of Johnson Matthey’s gold and silver refning business. Plans for the acquisition were frst announced last December, and the purchase price was ￡118 million ($179 million). The acquired business is a refner of primary and secondary gold and silver materials, and has refneries located at Salt Lake City, UT and Brampton, ON.
