IHS Conference: Specialty chemicals market in China to grow 7.1%/year

The specialty chemicals market in China, which was valued at $124 billion in 2014, is expected to grow at 7.1%/year during 2014-2019, Maoshi Guan, associate director at IHS Chemical told delegates at the Third Annual Asia Chemical Conference, which was held in Singapore from 4–6 November. China, in 2013, overtook Western Europe to become the second largest consumer of specialty chemicals, Guan says. The global specialty chemicals market, in 2014, was valued at about $545 billion, according to IHS.
