BP gains full control of Gelsenkirchen as part of refining and production pact with Rosneft

Rosneft (Moscow) and BP on Friday signed several production, refining, and production agreements at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. BP owns 19.75% of Rosneft. The documents were signed by Rosneft’s chairman Igor Sechin and president of BP Russia David Campbell. BP will take sole ownership of the Gelsenkirchen refinery in Germany, which includes two ethylene plants with combined capacity of 1 million m.t./year as part of the agreements.
