BorsodChem launches mercury-cell replacement

BorsodChem (Kazincbarcika, Hungary) says it has started preparations to replace its 125,000-m.t./year mercury-cell chlor-alkali plant at Kazincbarcika with a membrane-cell plant. The project is expected to be completed by December 2017. BorsodChem already operates a 195,000-m.t./year membrane-cell chlor-alkali unit at the site.
