Pertamina and Kuwait Link in Refinery and Petchems JV

Pertamina (Jakarta) has signed an agreement with Kuwait Petroleum International (KPI) to build a refinery at Balongan, Indonesia. KPI will prepare a feasibility study within six months and construction is likely to start in the first quarter of 2011, Indonesia's industry minister Mohamad Hidayat says. The refinery will be designed for 200,000 bbl-300,000 bbl/day, tripling throughput at the site.
