Bayer CropScience Eyes ?1-Billion/Year Sales from New AcActive Ingredients

Bayer CropScience says that products based on six new active ingredients it plans to launch in 2010-12 have global annual peak-sales potential of more than ?1 billion. They represent a "new generation of environmentally friendly active ingredients," the company says. The active ingredients include three fungicides from a new generation of fungal respiratory chain inhibitors, which will all hit the market in 2012 as a seed dressing. Another new fungicide combats rice blast, "the world's most economically important rice disease," the company says. Bayer CropScience made the forecast at a press briefing at its Monheim, Germany headquarters today.
