Sherwin-Williams' Profits Grow On Improved Paint Demand

Sherwin-Williams (SW) reported an increase in sales and earnings for the second quarter, but has warned that it will fall short of analysts' estimates for the third quarter. Second-quarter net income jumped 15%, to $182 million ($1.64/share), on sales up 10%, to $2.1 billion helped by improving demand, favorable currency exchange rates, and acquisitions. Earnings were $1.72/share excluding charges. The consensus of analysts' estimates was $1.65/share.
