The Rich and Diverse Spectrum of Organic Chemistry in the Millennium: Report from the 37th National Organic Symposium

Snuggled in the Rocky Mountains, Montana State University became the Mecca of organic chemistry at the 37th National Organic Symposium during the week of June 10-14. Located in Bozeman, Montana, at the northern edge of the Greater Yellowestone Ecosystem and Surrounded entirely by mountains and National Forests, Montana State University is winter home to 11,000 students. The frontier qualities of rugged individualism, steadfast enterprise, and open space, superimposed with ghost towns, Yellowstone National Park, and hot springs provided the backdrop for this meeting of approximately 850 attendees. A record-setting 14-inch snowfall completed the panorama for this meeting.
