We herein report a rare case of undifferentiated squamous cell carcinoma of the parotid gland with metastatic spread to the trigeminal and facial nerves and to the cavernous sinus. Parotid gland tumors, and squamous cell carcinomas, in particular, are quite rare and represent only 3% of all head and neck tumors. Less than 5 known cases of squamous cell carcinoma of the parotid gland with intracranial metastases have been reported, but to our knowledge this is the 1st case of spread, not only to the trigeminal and facial nerves but also to the cavernous sinus by this cell type. Like prognostic factors, the metastatic rate of these tumors has not been well studied.
