Coaxial injector of a plasma opening switch operating in the nonsteady arc-discharge mode

Results are presented from interferometric studies of a coaxial injector operating in the nonsteady arc-discharge mode. The discharge was initiated and stabilized by pulsed gas puffing into the interelectrode gap of the injector. The dynamics of the plasma bunch formation and the spatial characteristics of the bunch are investigated, and the density of the generated plasma is determined.
