On December 16, the Planning and Assessment Commission (PAC) of the State of NSW, Australia approved No.4 coal terminal project (T4) at the port of Newcastle (NC) planned by Port Waratah Coal Services Limited (PWCS). T4 project aims to build a fourth coal terminal at this port on the Kooragang Island in order to lift a coal exporting capacity at the port of NC. The total project cost is about A$4.8 billion. The coal shipping capacity at T4 is 70Mtpa (in Stage I), and planned to be lifted to a maximum of 120Mtpa if the coal demand goes up in the future.
