CHALCO Postpones TOB On SouthGobi Resources For A Month

On July 4, Aluminum Corporation of China Limited (CHALCO) decided to postpone the takeover bid (TOB) on SouthGobi Resources Ltd., Canada until August 3 for about 1 month from the originally planned date of July 5. The postponement of TOB has been agreed also by Ivanhoe Mines Ltd., a top shareholder (57.6% shareholding) in SouthGobi Resources. Incidentally, the top shareholder in Ivanhoe Mines is Rio Tinto plc who has a 51% shareholding in it.
