With support of South Korean Government, Korea Electric Power Corp. (KEPCO) has been strenuously striving to gain primary overseas thermal coal assets. That is from the objective of securing long term and stable imported thermal coal to be consumed by its subsidiaries of five electric power companies by way of raising ratio of own mines in thermal coal imports by acquisition of thermal coal assets in Australia and Indonesia.
