Benga coal mine is a metallurgical coal mine in the Tete Province and started a coal production in the 3rd quarter(July - September) of 2012. The type of coal produced at this coal mine is 3 types such as hard coking coal, premiumthermal coal (CV: 6,700kcal/kg based on GAD, Ash: 20%) and low-grade thermal coal (5,500kcal/kg, Ash: 33%), ofwhich hard coking coal and premium thermal coal are exported and low-grade thermal coal is consumed at powergeneration plants at home.
