With the background of the worldwide slump in demand for coking coal including the Asian region, the spot market on coking coal has recently got weakened further. As a matter of fact, the current spot export price of hard coking coal has dropped to US$160 minus FOBT. While the demand and supply position on coking coal has already got eased, since hard coking coal has flown into the Asian market from Mozambique as a new supply source, it is quite likely the coking coal market will continue to be weakened for some time to come.
