Alpha Natural Resources Inc., USA decided on 19th of September (18th, local time) to reduce its coal production by 16 million tons by early 2013. Accordingly, Alpha Natural Resources is going to close 8 coal mines the Company is operating in Virginia, West Virginia and Pennsylvania, the breakdown of which is 3 coal mines in Virginia, 4 in West Virginia and 1 in Pennsylvania. 8 coal mines supposed to be closed are as follows.
