On the other hand, Rio Tinto plc started coal production at Benga coal mine in early 2012. The interest in this coal mine is 65% owned by Rio Tinto and 35% by Tata Steel Limited, India. Tata Steel has a right to take 40% of coals produced at this coal mine. The product split from Benga coal mine is 3 coal types of hard coking coal, premium thermal coal (CV: 6,700kcal/ kg, GAD basis, Ash: 20%) and low-grade thermal coal (5,500kcal/kg, Ash: 33%).
