Mitsui Chemicals To Renovate Its Cracker In Ichihara

Mitsui Chemicals, Inc.? revealed a plan to renovate its naphtha cracker with capacity to produce 553,000 tons per year of ethylene at Ichihara Works in Ichihara city, Chiba prefecture next July when periodic maintenance is scheduled. By exchanging a part of a cracking gas compressor, the economic efficiency can be maintained even at operations rate of 70% of capacity. However, the production capacity itself will not be changed.
