Vale Exports 35,000 tons Of Moatize Coal

Vale S.A. this time exported 35,000 tons of coal produced at Moatize coal mine, a new coking coal mine in Mozambique to the Asian market from the port of Beira. Moatize coal mine is a large-scale surface coal mine located 1,700 km north of Maputo in the Tete Province, and started coal production in mid 2011. The development at this coal mine has 2 stages, and 11.0 million T/Y of salable coal is supposed to be produced in 2013 when the Stage-I is completed. The product split from the production is 8.5 million tons of hard coking coal and 2.5 million tons of thermal coal.
