It is forecast that suppliability of oil products in western Japan will be reduced after several oil refineries close down as planned by the end of March 2014. With the refinery closures Cosmo Oil and Idemitsu Kosan, having majority of the capacities in the eastern part of Japan, will face shortage in suppliability in the western part of Japan. In order to maintain the suppliability, some of the Japanese refiners have been in backstage negotiations on an individual basis for possible solutions including barters.
