BMA Closes Gregory Surface Coal Mine In October

BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA) decided on 10th of September to close Gregory surface coal mine in the Bowen Basin in the State of QLD on 10th of October. In light of the sharp drop in the export price of coking coal and the profitability to operate Gregory surface coal mine being worsened due to Australian Dollar becoming strong against US Dollar, this coal mine has been decided to be closed in a month.
