Xstrata Develops Ravenworth North Concession-Producing total 8 million MT/year of thermal coal and semi-soft coking coal-

Xstrata Plc decided officially to invest 1,360 million US dollars (Australian Dollars 1,400 million) for promotion of Ravenworth North project in New South Wales, Australia. Ravenworth North project is to develop Ravenworth North opencut concession made out by integration of the existing coal mine Cumnock in New South Wales and Ravenworth West concession in the surrounding area of the mine and to export coal produced at the opencut concession to the Asian and other regions including Japan. The interest in the project is held 90 percent by Xstrata and 10 percent by Itochu Corp.
