Indian government aims to increase the efficient coal-fired units also known as supercritical coal-fired units. If theratio of the coal-fired facilities with high efficiency is raised, coal consumption will decrease along with that the spaceneeded for constructions of the power plants will be reduced as well.The governmental organization has said that there are a large amount of the coal-fired units, which ran longer than25 years. The total capacities of old units amount to 36,000 MW.
