Resource Majors Move to Integrate Coal Business (3)

While Anglo American plc shuts down or closes money-losing coal mines, its policy is to try to integrate its coal business by way of promoting development of Grosvenor underground coal mine, a new metallurgical coal mine in the State of QLD, Australia. In accordance with this policy, in December 2014, Anglo American shut down Trend coal mine, an existing metallurgical coal mine in Canada whose management got aggravated owing to a sudden fall in the export price of metallurgical coal. This will be placed on care and maintenance condition until the export market for metallurgical coal makes a recovery.
