Guildford Coal to Obtain Interest in Mongolia

On June 1, Guildford Coal Limited, Australia announced that it would obtain an 80% interest in Tsaidamnuurthermal coal/power generation project in Mongolia from Tsaidam Energy LLC.Tsaidamnuur thermal coal/power generation project aims to exploit an unexplored opencast mining area (Tsaidamnuurmining area) located 132 km to the southeast of Ulan Bator and also build a coal-fired power generation plant at theneighboring site of this mining area. The output power of this power generation plant is 600 MW. Thermal coal producedat this mining area will be supplied as a fuel to this plant.
