Contract On LNG From Alaska To Terminate At End Of FY 2010-Imports decrease by half from peak time due to depletion in gas fields

The contracts to purchase LNG from Alaska LNG project by Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) and Tokyo Gas Co., Ltd. are expected to terminate at the end of fiscal year 2010. Both companies signed renewal contract with ConocoPhillips Company and Marathon Oil Corporation for more two years from fiscal year 2009 to 2010 and have imported LNG from Alaska at present. However, it seems that the contract will not be extended again in fiscal year 2011 due to the serious depletion of resources in the gas fields.
