Asymmetric autocatalysis of 5-carbamoyl-3-pyridyl alkanols with amplification of enantiomeric excess

5-Carbamoyl-3-pyridyl alkanols with low e.e. act as asymmetric autocatalysts in the consecutive asymmetric autocatalytic addition of diisopropylzinc to 5-carbamoyl-3-pyridinecarbaldehydes.
