In the past, OMF Turra has more than once approached the bicomponent moulding field by combining two vertical injection machines served by a rotary table; this configuration is excellent for solving the problems involved in bicomponent moulding with long intermediate cooling times between the two injection stages, but it is not a technically viable solution for rapid moulding cycles. To round off its comprehensive range of injection presses, the company has invested in this new project with the aim of creating a bicomponent moulding machine ensuring versatile, fast and easy set-up. The result is a machine with the following features: a 120-ton clamping unit; two injection units; a large clamping platen.
