Plexiform angiomyxoid myofibroblastic tumour of the stomach: a case report.

Sir,Plexiform angiomyxoid myofibroblastic tumour (PAMT) is a new mesenchymal myofibroblastic neoplasm of the stomach which was originally described by Takahashi et al.PAMT was described as a mesenchymal neoplasm of the stomach composed of uniform, bland spindle cells with abundant myxoid stroma and conspicuous small vessels. Immunohistochemically, the tumour cells were positive for alpha-smooth mucle actin (SMA) and muscle actin, and negative for c-kit, CD34 and S-100 protein. Electron microscopic findings were consistent with the myofibroblastic nature of the tumour cells. Following the original two cases, four more cases that we are aware of were reported.
