Turkmengas breaks ground on gas-to-gasoline plant

Haldor Tops?e is providing its novel Tops?e Improved Gasoline Synthesis (Tigas) technology to Turkmengas (Ashgabad) for a natural gas-to-gasoline plant being constructed at Ovadan-Depe, Turkmenistan. The plant will have capacity for 15,500 bbl/day of synthetic gasoline and will be the first large commercial facility to use the process. “Tigas makes it possible to produce high-quality, high-value gasoline from natural gas, shale gas, associated gas, coal, pet coke, or even biomass, says Bjerne Clausen, president and CEO of Tops?e.
