LyondellBasell reports frst quarter net income of $944 million, up 5% year-over-year on gains in Europe and Asia. Sales increased 4.4% YOY to $11.1 billion. Earnings of $1.72/share fell short of the consen- sus estimate of $1.73/share as reported by Thomson Reuters. "The frst quarter results were good despite headwinds from maintenance, weather-related raw material cost volatility, and shipping delays,” says Jim Gallogly, LyondellBasell CEO.
