Worldwide sales of semiconductors and integrated circuits (IC) fell again in March 2001, semiconductor revenues by another 7 percent, and IC units by about 3 percent (see figure 1).The Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) indicates that soles are getting worse 'across-the-board'. The decline is affecting every product sector and most geographic regions. The Americas and Asia Pocific regions have been hit the hardest by the economic downturn.
