Mitsui Chemicals signs deal with Fuso for sale of maleic anhydride and fumaric acid businesses

Mitsui Chemicals says that it has signed an agreement with Fuso Chemical (Osaka) for the previously announced sale of Mitsui’s maleic anhydride and fumaric acid businesses to Fuso. Plans for the sale were first announced on 16 May, and the agreement was signed today following discussions regarding the terms of the sale, Mitsui says. The sale will include Mitsui’s production plants at Kashima, Japan, that produce 32,000 m.t./year of maleic anhydride and 15,000 m.t./year of fumaric acid.
