China’s largest rare earth producer acquires nine rare earth mining companies

Inner Mongolia Baotou Steel Rare-Earth Hi-Tech (Baotou, China), China’s largest producer of rare earths, has acquired nine rare earth mining companies in Inner Mongolia, an autonomous region in north- ern China, which is home to more than half of the world’s light rare earth output. The acquisitions are part of the government’s eforts to consolidate the rare earth sector.
