Reports say PTT partnering with Marubeni on Marcellus cracker

PTT Global Chemical (PTTGC; Bangkok) has partnered with Marubeni Corp. (Tokyo) to develop an ethane cracker and derivatives project in the Marcellus and shale region of the United States, says a local report. According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, quoting unnamed sources, the partners are considering three locations: the Mon River Industrial Park in Allenport, PA; and a site each in West Virginia and Ohio. Bowon Vongsinudom, president and CEO of PTTGC, told CW in May that the company has been considering a cracker project in the United States.
