Korean court rejects Intematix challenge to Mitsubishi patent

Mitsubishi Chemical Corp. (MCC; Tokyo) and Japan’s National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS; Ibaraki) said on Wednesday that the Patent Court of Korea has rejected an appeal by Intematix (Fremont, CA) con- testing their patent for red phosphor, a material used extensively in LEDs. The court’s decision, efective 3 June, rules in favor of the patent’s validity.
