Linde (Munich), the gases and engineering group, today reported a 4.3% drop in second-quarter adjusted operating profit, to ?969 million ($1.30 billion), on 1.3% lower revenues of ?4.17 billion. Operating margin in the quarter was 23.3% compared with 24% in the year-earlier period. The gases division reports a 2.4% decline in operating profit, to ?950 million, on 3.2% lower revenue of ?3.46 billion. The engineering division's operating profit slid 14.6%, to ?70 million, on 3% higher revenue of ?717 million.
