Lanxess Acquires Solutia's Perkalink

Lanxess says it has agreed to acquire Solutia’s Perkalink anti-reversion agent business, as well as certain select primary accelerator assets. Terms were not disclosed, but Solutia says that Perkalink, which is part of its Flexsys business unit, represented less than 1% of consolidated sales in 2009. Under the deal, Lanxess will take over selected parts of Flexsys’ primary accelerators business and integrate them into its exist- ing production facilities in Kallo, Belgium, and Bushy Park, SC. Lanxess is a leading supplier of primary accelerators, sold under the trade name Vulkacit, and has invested about european dollar 10 million ($13.9 million) over the last two years to upgrade its Kallo world-scale plant.
