Omnia (Bryanston, South Africa) has announced a R1.4-billion project to construct world-scale nitric acid and ammonium nitrate plants at Sasolburg, South Africa, to meet growing demand in the country's explosives and fertilizer markets. The plant is due to be onstream in 2012. Uhde will provide technology, engineering design, and component supplies.
