Last year, Dow Chemical introduced its Dowlex NG (Next Generation) LLDPE resins to meet the need for better optics, improved toughness and faster processing opportunities. "Compared to conventional resins, these improve physical properties by 300%, clarity by 100% and the haze is down to five," said Sudjali Halim, Marketing Manager for Basic Plastics, Asia Pacific, during a visit by PRA to Dow's Singapore office. "The clarity improvement does not impact processability. The printing quality is improved and multiple colours can be used," he added, explaining that the resins are targeted at the food and speciality packaging, industrial and consumer packaging and health and hygiene applications.
