Economical high-pressure foaming

German company Hennecke says that its high-pressure Multiflex slabstock line is able to render 4% savings of the isocyanate material, compared to lines operating on the low-pressure principle. With an annual slabstock production of about 5,000 tonnes and an isocyanate price of EUR2.50/kg, savings of around EUR200,000/year can be achieved. It also says that its flat-top covering method that transforms the thick top skin into useable foam achieves 10% improvements in yields, compared to the conventional dome block method.
