Improved and lowr-cost polypropylenes are evolving at Basell

In order to reduce costs, the firm plans to moth-ball older capacity which will be replaced with a new, world-scale (about 400,000 tonne/yr) plant by 2007. It is yet to be decided whether this new plant will be at Basell's facilities in Carrington, United Kingdom; Wesseling, Germany; or Sarnia, Ontario, Canada.
