The Southern Rubber Industry JSC (Casumina) has started construction on a US$160 million car tyre plant in southern Binh Duong Province. The plant will cover an area of 70,000 sq.m, with a production capacity of 1 million tyres/year. Construction will be divided into three phases with the first phase scheduled to finish in the first quarter of 2013 with an annual capacity of350,000 units.
