This fantastic savings comes from using the injection-molded polyphenylene resin to integrate the end plate and the adjacent insulating plate into one functional plate for use in proton exchange membrane fuel cells. Today's PEM fuel cell stacks typically have sets of separates stainless steel or aluminum end plates and insulating plates at both ends of the stack.
