DSM Engineering Plastics has become the latest producer of engineering plastics in India. It recently held a ground breaking ceremony for its new greenfield compounding site in Ranjangaon industrial zone,about 60 km from Pune. The new site will triple the production capacity for engineering plastics. Not a new entrant to the market,DSM has been operating sales and application offices as well as a compound manufacturing facility in India since 1998. Said Roelof Westerbeek,President of DSM Engineering Plastics Asia Pacific,"This investment is in line with our strategy to be an active contributor to the emerging global economies. The engineering plastics market has seen an acceleration in growth in recent years,resulting from the investments that have taken place in the automotive and electrical markets."
