Bayer MaterialScience(BMS)will build a EUR40 million world-scale plant for polymer-filled polyether polyols(PMPOs)in Antwerp,Belgium.With an annual capacity of 60,000 tonnes,the plant will start up by late 2008.The German company already manufactures polyether polyols,one of the starting materials for polymer polyols,in Antwerp.The company will utilise its patented PMPO technology,which is said to produce low VOC products and uses 25% lower construction costs and energy.PMPOs are used to make flexible PU foam for furniture,mattresses and car seats.
